Monster Tajima’s Suzuki SX4 Wins Pikes Peak But No Record

Reigning champion Nobuhiro “Monster” Tajima, and his Suzuki SX4 special won the 87th Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in a blistering fast time of 10 minutes, 15 seconds, but a loose track would not allow for a new record, despite Tajima’s SX4 beating his closest rival by over 36 seconds!
Olsberg Motor Sports Evolution brought over two specially prepared Ford Fiesta Rallycross cars from Sweden in an effort to challenge Tajima’s SUV for the course record, but a crash by four-time Swedish rally champion Andreas Eriksson and mechanical gremlins on the sister car driven by two-time World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm prevented the World Rally Championship ringers from achieving their goal.
